HSCL Sunday Morning Service 5/23/10: 23rd Psalm

Psalm 23 (KJV)

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Law is my guiding principle; I shall not ‘trip’.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

All of my needs are met: I am guided and guarded and everything required for my jouney is provided.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

I am strengthened from the core of my being…this experience of unfolding good calls forth the same good that is my nature.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Even tho’ I still may trip, on occasion, I really do know better: I know that all that I am, ALL that I have and do is directly attributable to my intention, focus and surrender to these guiding principles.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Even when I perceive that there are those who are against me (by their word or deed) I see beyond my fear of them and my doubt of me and I realize that this is not worthy of my attention! I recognize my good is forever present –in ABUNDANCE!

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

As I stay focused on the GOODNESS, GRACE and LOVE that abides in me, it surrounds and enfolds me…I intend to remain in this conscious awareness, FOREVER!

There is that within us that resonates for each of us. It’s where we find the key to unlock our Spirit. This key varies with each one, so the key is to find the key. I want each of us to be in alignment with whatever the ministry is at the very core of our pure heart.

Our hearts can be cluttered with life and the human condition that has us feeling we must act in a certain way to “defend our honor” as if there is honor to be defended. I used to wish other people would change, and spend time yearning “why couldn’t they be different?” We will never do anything different until we are different.

There is a willingness to be transparent in ministry
I didn’t start anything, what I did was to stop resisting…sometimes we have to bottom out and give in
Sometimes I have allowed situations and circumstances to be the boss of me, it’s time to let it go
Heart & Soul represents a new start, a brand new day, a starting over consciously and intentionally
There is a newness in my life...there is an aspect of me claiming spiritual liberation, and “come on let’s all go” invitation for you to join me
I am forever looking for the principle and my life is showing up more magnificently than before
My life that is changing my physical body, my emotional health
And if I’m getting some, ya’ll may want to get some too…I am trying to get you all involved...the wave is up! get wet
Some people don’t realize that the Science Of Mind is grounded in scripture. Ernest Holmes is a synthesizer….he took what was and realized that there were people who may not understand the way things were....I know it appears to be thus and such, but what is it really?
There will be those times when it appears that what we want can’t come to us, but we have to be willing to be ready for when the change does come
All it is, is that it’s not available right now, our work is to be ready when it is available
This is the moment when we declare the ability to come to ourselves, to change our mind,
We get to decide in any moment to change our minds, and in that moment something else shifts
Changing our mind isn’t the whole thing, there is something to do
This is not manipulation, this is shifting in such away that you are present for the goodness
God is code for Love
We have so many steps we make backward than forward and we wonder why we are not having the experience we desire
I will continue to bring ideas that can support us in changing our thoughts
Sometimes we plant our seeds on shallow ground, our minds are not yet ready
In order for the new birth, something has to die, something has to change and there will be some pain
With grace and ease, does not mean easy, but with an elegance and a knowing that we are open and available to the stretching and pulling and the gift on the other side.

What is clear to me is that we are SHINING. Won’t you shine your light today?
It’s not that we aren’t aware that there can be stress & strife, but the question still stands, “Won’t you shine your life?”
I am doing my absolute best, even as I am aware this, I am out here without a net…
The amazing thing about faith is that the further we push it, the more of it there is, in the moment I think it ought to be busted…
I’m always willing to go, but when it’s time to take the step, I need a little more info - who, what, when, where…and all this gets in the way…
It takes courage to tell a person that you see their good…sometimes it’s seen as meddling, and sometimes it’s a Divine message for all concerned
Love is an action for God that I can name
It IS, but how it is is up to you…the question isn’t whether it is, but what are you doing with it, it is but are we aware?
This is an invitation to tune in, and to come with a determination and a willingness to persevere
The whole thing works out, but you can miss the working out part if you quit too soon
This life is a mental construct and if we cease believing something is for us, then we can’t have it
When we pray, we are praying for the highest and best for call concerned because it's not that we get our way and someone else looses out
All things are working together for good, but you gotta work it
Shine the light through the dark condition, shine your light through the credit report, the report card, whatever it is
The observer gets to say what will be seen
The way out is to speak our way out…and the speaking is Only Love
We didn’t stop to tell our young people what we paid for what we have, we didn’t teach them what they needed to know, when we let our own light shine, we invite their attention and earn their trust
If we work on us, it will have tremendous impact because we are always being observed, we have been observed abusing ourselves
We don’t all have to be counted out to get the benefit of someone else’s experience
The thing you think was beating you down, was the thing you needed to get yourself ready, to back you into the blocks

If we pay attention we will see very often that there is a pattern being revealed to us, there are those who can see the blueprint that is not obvious to the novice, for the one who really understands it, they see something else happening, they see through to the Divine Pattern with in the thing
We are being shown something and being given the opportunity to see beyond the visible.
There is something being broken open and it is up to us how we choose to respond
Taking away the stone in removing anything that interferes with the work. Anything that makes us question our worthiness and deservability
Do not be fooled by the past
As long as we continue to abide by laws that do not matter, what we are observing are not laws, but madness
This is about believing differently and choosing to believe something other than madness, something other than "it has to be a certain way"
To the extent we are willing to look square into the invisible and look beyond the appearance and believe something else
There is always a metaphysical solution, looking beyond and knowing there is indeed amazing grace
The moment I believe that not only is it possible, it is certain, at the level of prosperity or health and wellness
It all works together for good for those who are willing to work it. So tonight is about working it…
We continue to push the envelope and step out in ways we are not sure about how things are going to happen
Things are usually not as they appear, think again, don’t give up…unless you are prepared to give up
If you know it’s yours, if you know divine prosperity is yours, if you know health and wellness is yours, if you know creative self expression is yours...then how willing are you to be obedient to the Law of God.
If things have no power, it’s the power we have given it, and this could be the day where we take our power back
Heart & Soul is kind of a Baby Huey like ministry, it has grown up really fast and there is a lot that is happening
If you are in the special neo-natal stage of happening, you are being called specially, we are still in the birthing process, but look at it!
What is the principle we are using to get us here? Amazing Grace, is what got us here. We have turned in our fears for faith, we rolled away the stone, the grace of God removes the stone of our doubt and our fear
The Divine Transformation of Self Soul and we have to know that we are willing to stay the course because your heart is telling you, then the rest is certain

I am in that place of surrender, there is an awareness that it is time to let go and let God…that’s why I’m here…there is an awareness at any moment that I am doing the best I can, and that’s new
I may not be pleased with the outcome and am still clear that I did the nest I could. This is rolling the stone away
The stone represents the huge challenge in ones life and the pebble in the shoe and it is always at the level of spiritual, mental, emotional consciousness
We realize it never was, what we thought it was, it can’t all be knowing right now in the way we want o know it
Rolling the stone is removing the barrier and limitations, that it’s not exactly the same, and it’s all the same…
It is always simply a perception of separation
The translation is that you are stopping me to from being my full self because you are not making it easy for me
I am preparing the pace so that I can be more prepared for the idea of what scripture means to us n the individual and collective level
What is between me and my full expression? Help me be who I need to be so I can be who I am
“I don’t mind what happens”, we hope that doesn’t mean what we know it means
We think what the situation changes who we are and how we need to be, but the lesson is to continue to be who we are regardless, and none of that will move me
As bad as this is, it doesn’t change who I am
There is a moment in time where there is no escaping that we are one, the science of genealogy helps us realize we are one
We can continue to live our lives taking exception, and make others different,
There is that that knows that we are connected, what if our basic premise is that we are all connected
There is an undercurrent that is the current itself and if we choose to tune into it
Stay off the drama triangle, life will invite you into choosing sides, there is no safe place there, the way to win is to get off the triangle, not argue for a position

The only stoe to roll away is the stone of our own thinking

Heart and Soul doesn’t exist because there aren’t enough churches, it exists because we demanded that it exist. There is something we are clearly calling forth. While I have a key role, I know it’s not me. A huge part of what is up for us is the opportunity to get clear and practice what really matters
We’re at 110 days and it feels like forever and yesterday, but we have thrown the gauntlet down to have continual learning
Loving who you are, the ultimate spiritual practice
We have not yet mastered self observation, especially when we’re in it, people usually do 1 of 2 things: self judgment, or try to bring ourselves down before the person who asked before it appears to call forth an arrogance
We are also accustomed to the world criticizing, and we tend to think what is expected is that we see first what we did wrong and tell it
What is that in me that didn’t know? How is it that I can live my life in such a way that I didn’t know that at our 1st HSCL there was more than 150 people?
I was out of step with the gift that is my life and how I am to bring it…but I have played the game for a long time believing I could have a gift that I could share without being seen.
I practiced being all that I came to be and tried to stay small
I am coming to the table with willingness to be all that I can be
Self love is humility, but it is not playing small
When you’re up to something there are always going to be those who don’t like it, and if you are sensitive to the feedback, then it can through you a curve
You can not keep the baby in the incubator beyond what is appropriate
I have to get the little me out of the way, and since there are a lot of us, and we all have our littleness in the way, we need to get to a practitioner and move past this place of self judgment and perceived limitation
Our lives are set up to work in perfect order and balance
If we have a twisted sense of self we will miss the openness and the invitation, we will only see and experience according to how it is written for ourselves
Let’s start the new chapter, the new page, the new volume…
Many of us have never been told that we are a holy vessel
To the extent that we can settle in and drop anchor in self love, the safer the planet is, the broader the deeper, the more authentic the expression of love can be, when we drop anchor in it for self.
It ain’t over until you declare it’s over and give up
I don’t understand it, but I have tested it….The creative process is still awaiting your cue
Are we mad? Are we believing this? Are we denying it or affirming it? What we goin' do?
Are we trusting God and trusting love? Can we go from “this looks messed up” to “this looks quite different”? We must remain in trust and openness and divine availability
I can see where I am serving 2 masters and you can count on me to get that healed, and released and you know I like company
Acceptance clears the way so something can happen, it is the absence of resistance
You can not deny yourself forever and then expect to stand in your power immediately
The invitation is to give ourselves the amazing gift of life and be who we came to be and to “do you”
Loving yourself more is how we will bless and change the planet

Heart And Soul COL New Schedule of Services effective 11/12/09

We are grateful to share space with the Afrikan Children's Advanced Learning Center and to have had overflow attendance at our inaugural Wednesday and Sunday services. As we adapt to our new environment, new opportunities arise for us to continually enhance the Heart and Soul Center of Light experience for all of our congregants and to accommodate as many who want to share in our service celebrations as possible. One such opportunity concerns our meditation services.

Although we truly love the idea of a half-hour meditation service, we also recognize our responsibility to accommodate ALL Heart and Soul Center of Light congregants as comfortably as we can. We discovered last Wednesday and Sunday that far more people arrived after meditation began than we could reasonably accommodate in a "overflow" fashion. Congregants who were already seated and engaged in meditation found themselves distracted by the growing crowd. Because we always want congregants to experience meditation with as little disruption as possible, we will close the doors to the sanctuary shortly after meditation begins, and then reopen them when meditation ends.

Therefore, we have made a decision to shorten our meditation services to 15 minutes on both Wednesdays and Sundays. With this change, no late arrival will ever have to stand waiting longer than 12 minutes before entering one of our celebration services. In an effort to accommodate more people, we have also added an “Early Bird” Sunday Service.

Effective Wednesday, November 12, 2009 and until further notice, the schedule of services for Heart and Soul Center of Light will be as follows:
